As is with any
school, the academic needs of the student changes throughout the span
of their education. The pages within this section of the Island Village
Montessori website explains in detail what these needs are and how the
Montessori Concepts fit to meet the needs of each child individually through
the education process.
In the following subsections you will learn about
our:
- Early
Childhood Program - Serving students from 3 years to kindergarten
in both Venice and Sarasota locations.
- Kindergarten
Program - Our bridge program allows a student to complete
their kindergarten year in a 3-6 year old class or in a kindergarten/1st
grade class. Some of our students enjoy two years of kindergarten: one
at each classroom division for an extra year of preparation before starting
1st grade.
- Elementary
Program - Serving students from kindergarten through 5th
grade in Venice and Sarasota locations.
- Middle
School Program - Designed as a feeder school for our elementary
programs, our middle school shares our Venice location. Rather than
a traditional Montessori curriculum, our middle school will highlight
individualized instruction, the arts, foreign language, and technology.
- Student
Assessments - A description of assessment in a Montessori
environment.
- After
School Programs - Descriptions of our after school programs
and costs. All IVMS students are eligible to attend our after school
programs. There are fees for this service.
- Foreign
Language Programs - Our philosophy of the importance of foreign
language instruction for all students and how it best unfolds.
- Summer
Programs - Descriptions of our summer programs for preschool
and kindergarten students.
