News Menu TheAfter-school phone number (after 4:00 PM) is 223-0360. If we are not at the Green Sunshade, we are in the “Quad” (Large bldg. with the Logo) in Rms. 6 & 8. You are welcome to freeze a water bottle and send it with your child for the After-school Program. We will be doing homework everyday. “Be Kind” Hours: Dismissal-5:30PM Welcome to another fun filled, exciting year of the IVMS After-school program! As so many of you requested, here is a general outline of the Island Village Montessori After-school program also known as IVM/A-s for the 09/10 school year. IVMS After-school is available to IVMS families only. We try to give the students an equal balance of exercising, socializing, healthy snacking, etc in addition to the activities and specials. This is all made possible with the help and dedication of our staff. Returning this year are the following: JoAnna Dabrowski, Darlene Russo, Kathy Schultz, & Jan Pearman. In addition we have many Educators and Specialist offering activities to our students. With the after school program motto of “Be Kind”, IVM/A-s continues the Montessori day re-emphasizing grace, courtesy, communication, and consideration of others. The A-s staff works closely with all IVMS educators to bring about a total Montessori experience each day. Through IVM/A-s we are able to offer even more specials to all IVMS students. Of course, there is the popular Drama collaboration with Venice Theatre (at least 4 levels), The Choraliers (Choir), Soccer, French, Art, Piano, Soccer, Spanish Homework, and Study groups, Environmental Study to name a few. A-s participants will have first opportunity to sign up for Specials. Some of these are at additional cost over and above the cost of the base program. Specials will be available to all IVMS students on a first come first served basis after the initial offer to A-s participants. Some may not be offered at all levels. Watch for the specials as they are announced on the Parent Pages and News columns. Please read through these pages and return the signed Plan Choice Page with your payment.
